Dursley Stott Autumn Handicap Races -- Thursday 17th Oct.

Results  --> Walk <--   and   --> Run <--     Report by Mo Kelly:-

The Dursley Stott Autumn Handicap Races were recently held on the NSC Perimeter roadway in ideal conditions. The 10K run was won by Brian Masterson who now has his sights set on the Haldane Fisher sponsored ‘Syd Quirk’ Half-Marathon. The fastest time on the night, 34minutes 39seconds, was set by Ed Gumbley who was pushed all the way by Mike Garrett who set the 3rd fastest time. Jamie Newton set the 2nd fastest time, just getting under the 35 minutes.  Spectators scattered as Nick Watterson and Ray Harmer fought to get to the line but the time-keeper could not separate them.  A week before leaving the Island to take part in the Half-Marathon in the World Masters Championships in Brazil, Kevin Deakes had a boost to his training with a PB of 36minutes 9seconds.

10 Walkers competed in the 5K walk which was won by Norbett Will with the fastest time on the night set by Michael Bonney.

Thanks to all the marshals, lap-counters, time-keeper and helpers
