There was a reasonable turnout for the annual Vets Mile event on Wednesday evening with Peter Callin claiming victory.

Earlier in the day the weather was one of the hottest days this year but that soon very quickly changed as Mannanan’s cloak swiftly engulfed the NSC making the conditions perfect to run in.

Callin set-off from the start and was never in any trouble as he came home in a time of 5 minutes 40 seconds, a clear half a minute from 2nd place which was claimed by Clive Dugdale who won the Vets Trophy due to being attached to the Vets club. Kevin Vondy came 3rd in a time of 6 minutes 12 seconds and made an even quicker dash to his car due to other commitments!

Helen Taylor claimed 1st lady with a time of 6 minutes 36 seconds ahead of Moira Hall who finished with a time of 7 minutes 43 seconds.

A big thanks to all that took part, the Vets committee and Manx Harriers who hosted the event. Lee Johnson
