On a perfect evening, a record number of competitors turned out for the IOM Veteran Athletes Club Autumn Handicap 10km Run / 5km Walk. The line-up consisted of 56 runners and 10 walkers respectively.
First event of the night was the 5km walk which was won by Louise Holdings with Nicola Raven and Nick Wallinger taking 2nd and 3rd places. Jane Farquhar once again achieved the quickest time on the night in 30mins 50secs.
The 10km run contained a strong line up including Will Draper, Andrew Nash, Mark Burman and Dave Bignell. It was a race that would also produce many PBs given the perfect conditions for the runners. With some interesting battles going on in particularly a 3-way between Burman, Bignell and Nzama, Rajdeep Sandhu took the honours in 1st place with Angie Robinson and Paul Cubbon finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Will Draper achieved the fastest time of the night with a blistering 31mins and 52secs.
The IOM Veteran Athletes Club would like to thank all of the volunteers who organised and took part on the night as well as the staff at the NSC. Results: HERE
